PRESIDENT

PREAMBLE

We, Members of the Youth Diplomatic Association of the United Nations,

 

RESOLVED

– To reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small.

– To create the conditions necessary for the maintenance of justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law.

– To promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom.

 

AND FOR THESE ENDS

– To practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbors.

– To unite our strength to maintain international peace and security.

– The acceptance of principles and the institution of methods, that will not be made use of force.

– To employ international machinery for the promotion of economic and social advancement of all peoples.

 

 

WE HAVE DECIDED TO COMBINE OUR EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH THESE DESTINATIONS

 

Therefore, we, the members of this association, gathered together in the name of liberty, equality and fraternity, we have adopted the principles of the UN charter and are committed to respect the status of the association.

– In the Diplomatic Youth Association of United Nations officials in each region (Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa), in each country, each city, each board, the vice president, the vice-secretary, Deputy Treasurer and the spokespersons are appointed by administration council and approved by the president of the association.

– The subsidiary bodies as may be found necessary may be established in accordance with this Charter.

– The General Assembly is chaired by the President of the Association of Diplomatic young United Nations and held at least once a year, convened by the President or on the request of a quarter of its active members. Decisions are made democratically by a majority of votes. In case of dispute the decision and that the solution will be decided by the president of the association.

– In the performance of their duties, the members shall not seek or receive instructions from any government or from any authority external to the organization. Each member of the association is committed to respecting the charter of the association, its hierarchy and its international character. No decision can be taken without the approval by the president of the association. The president has a veto right on all decisions concerning the association and its actions. Members and representatives of the association residing in various countries of the world, to carry out its functions must respect international law and the domestic laws of their place of residence. A procedure may be established by the Board of Directors.
